IMPORTANT-COVID-19
Sadly due to COVID-19 our branch had to make changes to upcoming events. Not to worry we are working hard to make sure that everything that was planned will still go on and available to everyone who wants it. All English teachers, Mrs. Berquist, Mrs. Terlizzi, Mr. Thompson, and all NEHS members will also have NEHS information.

Who We Are
National English Honor Society is a club for upcoming students interested in English that helps them develop networking skills and boost their writing even further. The first honor society was founded in 1776 but it wasn't until 1926 that the first Honor society was made for students. Since then there have been a plethora of other honor societies but none in English until March 25th, when Sigma Tau Delta, the international english honor society, Founded NEHS as an outreach program to High Schools.
The Stephen Decatur Hight chapter of NEHS, Seahawk Lyceum was founded by Kia Terlizzi and a group of students on November 2nd 2007. Each year the Honor society puts on various writing competitions and events. One of the more famous events is the annual Haunted Hallway, which is also our biggest fundraising evens.
The Seahawk Lyceum also has the Seahawk Writing center, a place for students to tutor students on their writing.
